Craftsmanship & Background

About me
Trained as a guitar maker and repairer, I hold a CAP Assistant Technique en Instruments de Musique (Guitar option) and a BMA – Brevet des Métiers d’Art, Instrument Making Technician (Guitar option), obtained at ITEMM (Institut Technologique Européen des Métiers de la Musique) in Le Mans, France.
I completed four years of formal training, earning all diplomas in 2021, where I was taught by experienced professionals, including Bertrand Moguérou, who was one of my instructors during my studies.
Alongside my studies, I spent four years working at Moloney Musical Instruments, gaining hands-on experience in repair, setup, and restoration. I have now been working on stringed instruments for over eight years.
My work focuses primarily on acoustic and electric guitars, but also includes mandolins, bouzoukis, banjos, and other traditional plucked string instruments. I also work on violins, although my practice in that field is more limited.
From simple setups to refretting, crack repairs, and structural restoration, I offer a complete range of services tailored to each instrument and musician.
I place great importance on precision, cleanliness, and high-quality tools, as I believe craftsmanship is defined by attention to detail. My goal is always to bring out the full potential of the instrument, so that it becomes a true extension of the musician’s hands—responsive, comfortable, and inspiring to play.
My move to Galway was driven by a deep love for traditional music and culture. The city, its musicians, and its musical heritage immediately felt like home. Today, my workshop reflects that spirit: a place where tradition, craftsmanship, and music come together to serve both the instrument and the player.
